The Centre for Women's Studies, Croatia The Centre's mission is to provide comprehensive education in Women's Studies issues in Croatia by connecting feminist theory, art and activism through interdisciplinary educational activities as well as to promote research and publishing by covering cross-cultural issues from a women-centred perspective.
The Centre offers basic insights into feminist epistemology, women within cultural theories, theories of identities, and women's self awareness by creating critical and fresh models of education and communicating knowledge. Within a wider public scope the Centre strengthens the politics of sex/gender equality through advocating Women's Studies curricula within the university, through expertise concerning Women's Studies issues, leadership training programs for political activists, and empowering women in general. In our program we are guided by the principle of respecting diversity, which encompasses gender, ethnicity and/or national origin, religion, socio-economic status, age, and sexual orientation.
